Setting Up a Trustline in Hana Wallet
🤝 To receive Stellar assets (non-XLM tokens) in Hana Wallet, you must first establish a trustline. This is a simple process that allows your wallet to accept and manage Stellar-based tokens.
Step-by-Step Guide to Setting Up a Trustline in Hana Wallet
Open Hana Wallet
Launch the Hana Wallet app or desktop extension.
Go to Manage
In the bottom menu, tap or click Manage.
Select Receive
Tap or click the Receive button.
(Optional) Filter for Stellar Tokens
If you want to view only Stellar assets, tap the chain dropdown and select Stellar.
This will display only Stellar-based tokens available for trustline setup.
Choose the Token
From the list, tap the token for which you want to set up a trustline.
Tap "Setup Trustline"
On the token details page, tap Setup Trustline.
Confirm the transaction when prompted.
A small amount of XLM (typically 0.5 XLM) will be reserved to establish the trustline.
Success! Your Trustline is Now Active
Once the trustline is set up, your wallet is now able to receive and manage that token.
What Are Trustlines in Stellar?
A trustline is a required connection between your Stellar wallet and an asset issuer that allows you to hold and transact with non-XLM assets on the Stellar blockchain.
💡 Unlike other blockchains where any token can be sent to a wallet, Stellar requires users to opt-in to receiving specific assets by setting up a trustline.
Why Are Trustlines Necessary?
Prevents Spam
Without trustlines, any project could send tokens to your wallet, cluttering your account with unwanted assets.
Controls Asset Exposure
You choose which Stellar assets you want to receive and manage.
Optimizes the Stellar Network
Trustlines prevent unnecessary blockchain data and help maintain efficiency.
Fulfills Stellar’s Minimum Balance Requirement
Each trustline reserves a small amount of XLM (0.5 XLM per trustline) to ensure users actively manage their assets.
