You can use Hana to sign transactions from a Ledger device. Read on below for a guide on how to set up your Ledger and then connect it to Hana.
Step-by-step guide to connect a Ledger device to Hana
Before you begin, you will need to have set up your Ledger device for use and install the ICON Ledger app. For a guide on this process, please refer to this page from Ledger.
Once your Ledger is prepared, connect it to the desktop or mobile device that your Hana is installed on using either a USB cable or Bluetooth (supported Ledger devices only).
Ensure the Ledger is switched on, unlocked and the ICON app is open.
Open your Hana application.
Enter on the hamburger menu (☰) located in the upper-right corner of the Hana homepage.
From the menu, select the ‘add a wallet’ option to add a wallet to your Hana account.
Select the ‘Connect your Ledger’ option in the following menu.
On the next page, click ‘Connect to Ledger’ again.
On the next page, you will be presented with a number of wallets, the keys of which your Ledger can manage. Select the wallet you would like to manage with Hana and continue.
You will now be asked if you want to connect your Ledger to other chains that are enabled in Hana. Select any that you wish to connect. If you haven’t yet enabled any other chains, don’t worry, this can be changed in our next section.
Your Ledger has now been successfully connected to Hana. You will still need to connect your Ledger to Hana to sign transactions.
Connecting your Ledger wallet to other chains
When you first connect your Ledger to Hana, it will be connected to all of your enabled chains. Head to the following article to find out how to manage connected blockchains for Hana. If you enable a new chain after connecting your Ledger you can still connect it later:
Open the Hana homepage and enter the hamburger menu (☰) located in the upper-right corner.
Select your Ledger wallet from your wallet selection and return to the homepage.
Select the name of your Ledger wallet from the Hana homepage, this will open a list of your Ledger wallets addresses for blockchains Hana is connecting to.
You will see that any blockchains you have connected Hana to after connecting your Ledger wallet show ‘Not connected’ rather than an address.
Select ‘Connect’ next to the desired blockchain to connect your Ledger for this chain.
