Step-by-step guide to create your first Hana account (mobile)
There are two ways to create your first Hana account on mobile, either by connecting with social log-in or by creating a new seed phrase.
Method 1: Social log-in
Launch the Hana app on your device.
On the welcome screen, tap ‘Social login’ and select your preferred social login provider: Apple or Google.
Follow the on-screen prompts to log in with your chosen social account and grant the Hana app the necessary permissions.
Once logged in, select which blockchains you'd like to instantly enable. You can easily change this selection later. Once you are happy, continue.
Carefully read and accept the Terms of Use agreement.
Congratulations! You have successfully created your first Hana Wallet. Your wallet is now visible and ready to use.
Method 2: Create seed phrase
Launch the Hana app on your device.
On the welcome screen, tap ‘Create account’.
You will be prompted to create a password for your new account, choose a secure password and continue.
Hana will now provide you with a mnemonic pass-phrase that gives you access to your Hana account. Make sure you back this up, keep it safe and never share it with anyone else. for more guidance on using Hana securely, refer to our important security tips for new users. Record your pass-phrase and continue.
Next, you will be requested to confirm your backed-up mnemonic phrase. Tap the words of your pass-phrase in sequence and then continue.
Once logged in, select which blockchains you'd like to instantly enable. You can easily change this selection later. Once you are happy, continue.
Carefully read and accept the Terms of Use agreement.
Congratulations! You have successfully created your first Hana Wallet. Your wallet is now visible and ready to use.
Understanding Wallet Types on Mobile
Each mobile device can hold different types of wallet accounts within Hana. These accounts appear as separate wallets in your side drawer:
Seed phrase wallet account:
Can generate multiple wallets within the same device.
Each wallet is derived from your single seed phrase.
Google or Apple Auth wallet account:
Generates one wallet per email address.
Email (magic link) wallet account:
Generates one wallet per email address.
This means you can mix and match — for example, one seed phrase wallet plus one Google wallet on the same device.
Using Hana’s Go Mobile Sync Service
The Go Mobile feature lets you sync an existing desktop wallet to your mobile device. However, there are some important limitations and best practices to keep in mind:
If you already have a seed phrase wallet on your mobile device, you cannot import another desktop seed phrase wallet using Go Mobile.
You can, however, use Go Mobile in two optimal ways
Option 1: Fresh install
You don’t have Hana installed on your mobile phone yet.
→ On the login screen, tap “Go Mobile” and follow the steps.
This will bring your desktop seed phrase wallet securely to your mobile device.
Option 2: Existing social/email login
You already have Hana installed, but only have a Google/Apple or Email login wallet set up.
→ Since there’s still room for a seed phrase wallet, the Go Mobile option will be available in your Settings drawer.
Follow the on-screen instructions to import your existing desktop wallet.
