If you’ve forgotten your Hana Wallet password, don’t worry—you can regain access by resetting your wallet. However, it’s important to note that Hana Wallet is a non-custodial wallet, meaning only you have access to your wallets. Resetting requires a backup, such as your seed phrase, to restore your wallets. Hana Wallet always recommends securely backing up your wallet during setup to prevent any loss of access.

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for both mobile and desktop users.

On Mobile: Reset Your Wallet Password

  1. Open the Hana App: Launch the Hana Wallet mobile app on your device.

  2. Tap "Reset Wallet": On the login screen, select the Reset Wallet option.

    • You’ll see information about what resetting your wallet does.

    • It will inform you that you can only recover your wallets from your existing backups, such as a seed phrase.

  3. Follow the Reset Process: Proceed with resetting your wallet. If you need more information, refer to this detailed guide: Resetting Your Hana Account.

  4. Restore Your Wallet:

    • After resetting, restore your wallet using your seed phrase or backup.

    • Once restored, you can set a new password for the application.

On Desktop: Reset Your Wallet Password

If you’re using Hana Wallet on a desktop browser, the steps are slightly different as there’s no "Reset Wallet" button on the login screen.

  1. Remove the Extension:

    • Open Chrome and go to chrome://extensions.

    • Locate the Hana Wallet extension and click Remove.

    • Make sure to clear cache and data during this process to ensure a clean reset.

  2. Reinstall Hana Wallet:

    • Download the Hana Wallet extension again from the Chrome Web Store.

    • Install it like a new user.

  3. Restore Your Wallet:

    • Upon reinstallation, follow the wallet restoration process using your seed phrase or backup.

    • Once restored, set a new password for the application.

Important Reminder

  • Backups Are Essential: Hana Wallet is a non-custodial wallet, meaning you are the sole owner of your wallets and assets. Without a backup, such as a seed phrase, your wallets cannot be recovered.

  • Keep Your Seed Phrase Secure: Always store your seed phrase in a safe place. If you don’t have your backup, resetting your wallet will result in permanent loss of access to your funds.
