Follow the steps below to create your first Hana account and connect it to the SUI and ICON networks. All ready for Mirai Season.
💡 Fun fact: Mirai Season uses the ICON network to give you access to the yield available in the Balanced Savings Rate. Soon this will be available natively from Sui and so the ICON chain connection will not be needed.
Step-by-step guide to create your first Hana account
1. Starting set-up
Firstly, you will want to set up the Hana Wallet application or extension up on your device and create a Hana account. You can do this through various methods on Desktop or Mobile:

Download Hana’s Chromium (Chrome, Brave, Microsoft Edge etc) browser extension: Available on the Chrome web store
Open your browser of choice and launch the extension from the top right-hand menu.
On the welcome screen, click ‘Create account’
You will be prompted to create a password for your new account, choose a secure password and continue.
Hana will now provide you with a mnemonic pass-phrase that gives you access to your Hana account. Make sure you back this up, keep it safe and never share it with anyone else. for more guidance on using Hana securely, refer to our important security tips for new users. Record your pass-phrase and continue.
Next, you will be requested to confirm your backed-up mnemonic phrase. Click the words of your pass-phrase in sequence and then continue.
Proceed to the next section of this guide, without leaving the screen you are on.
Method 2: Social log-in (Mobile)

Launch the Hana app on your device.
On the welcome screen, tap ‘Social login’ and select your preferred social login provider: Apple or Google.
Follow the on-screen prompts to log in with your chosen social account and grant the Hana app the necessary permissions.

Launch the Hana app on your device.
On the welcome screen, tap ‘Create account’.
You will be prompted to create a password for your new account, choose a secure password and continue.

2. Completing set-up
You should now have completed most of the initial set-up for your Hana account and will be on a screen allowing you to select which blockchains to enable for your wallet.
Using the toggles, ensure that the ICON and SUI blockchains are enabled for your wallet. You can easily change this selection later. Once you are happy, continue.
Carefully read and accept the Terms of Use agreement.
Congratulations! You have successfully created your Hana Account. Your wallet is now set up perfectly for Mirai Season.
3. Further Customisation
If you have completed set-up of your Hana account without enabling SUI and ICON chains, don't worry. Previously set-up Hana accounts can still be set-up to work seamlessly with Mirai Season.
If your Hana wallet doesn't have both ICON and SUI blockchains enabled, you can head to the Hana homepage and enter the hamburger menu (☰) located in the upper-right corner.
From the menu, click Settings.
Select Connected chains (on desktop) or Toggle chains (on mobile) to open a list of potential blockchain connections.
Select the toggles in this section to ensure that the ICON and SUI blockchains are enabled for your wallet.
You can now click the back arrow in the upper-left corner and return to the Hana homepage.
Your Hana account is now connected to ICON and SUI.
⚠️ Still can't connect? If your wallet was originally migrated to Hana and not created by your Hana account then you may not be able to generate addresses for certain chains. If this issue effects you, we suggest you create a new wallet. You can find guidance on this process here.
