How to set up Hana Wallet for Stellar Season

Quickly set up your Hana wallet to make the most of Stellar Season

Follow the steps below to create your first Hana account and connect it to the ICON & Stellar networks.

Step-by-step guide to create your first Hana account

1. Starting set-up

Firstly, you will want to set up the Hana Wallet application or extension up on your device and create a Hana account. You can do this through various methods on Desktop or Mobile:

Method 1: Chrome extension (Desktop)

  1. Download Hana’s Chromium (Chrome, Brave, Microsoft Edge etc) browser extension: Available on the Chrome web store

  2. Open your browser of choice and launch the extension from the top right-hand menu.

  3. On the welcome screen, click the button which looks like a seedling.

  4. You can now select to create a New seed phrase account.

  5. You will be prompted to create a password for your new account, choose a secure password and continue.

  6. Hana will now provide you with a mnemonic pass-phrase that gives you access to your Hana account. Make sure you back this up, keep it safe and never share it with anyone else. for more guidance on using Hana securely, refer to our important security tips for new users. Record your pass-phrase and continue.

  7. Next, you will be requested to confirm parts of your backed-up mnemonic phrase. Click the words in the requested positions and then continue.

  8. You will now be shown Hana's Terms & Conditions. Read these and then Accept & continue.

  9. You can now pin the Hana wallet app to your toolbar and open it to access the Hana homepage.

  10. Proceed to the next section of this guide, from the Hana homepage.

Method 2: Social log-in (Mobile)

  1. Download Hana on iOS or Android.

  2. Launch the Hana app on your device.

  3. On the welcome screen, select your preferred social login provider: Apple or Google.

  4. Follow the on-screen prompts to log in with your chosen social account and grant the Hana app the necessary permissions.

  5. Proceed to the next section of this guide, once you reach the Hana homepage.

Method 3: Create seed phrase (Mobile)

  1. Download Hana on iOS or Android.

  2. Launch the Hana app on your device.

  3. On the welcome screen, click the button which looks like a seedling.

  4. You can now select to create a New seed phrase account.​

  5. You will be prompted to create a password for your new account, choose a secure password and continue.​

  6. Hana will now provide you with a mnemonic pass-phrase that gives you access to your Hana account. Make sure you back this up, keep it safe and never share it with anyone else. for more guidance on using Hana securely, refer to our important security tips for new users. Record your pass-phrase and continue.​

  7. Next, you will be requested to confirm parts of your backed-up mnemonic phrase. Click the words in the requested positions and then continue.

  8. You will now be shown Hana's Terms & Conditions. Read these and then Accept & continue.

  9. You will now be redirected to the Hana homepage. Proceed to the next section of this guide.


2. Completing set-up

Now you have set up your Hana account, you have to enable the ICON & Stellar chains. Previously set-up Hana accounts can still be set-up to work seamlessly with Stellar Season.

  1. If your Hana wallet doesn't have Stellar blockchain enabled, you can head to the Hana homepage and enter the hamburger menu (☰) located in the upper-right corner.

  2. From the menu, click Settings.

  3. Select Toggle chains to open a list of potential blockchain connections.

  4. Select the toggles in this section to ensure that the ICON & Stellar blockchains are enabled for your wallet.

  5. You can now click the back arrow in the upper-left corner and return to the Hana homepage.

  6. Your Hana account is now connected to ICON & Stellar.

⚠️ Still can't connect? If your wallet was originally migrated to Hana and not created by your Hana account then you may not be able to generate addresses for certain chains. If this issue effects you, we suggest you create a new wallet. You can find guidance on this process here.
